One of the sights not to be missed when you come to Vienna is the view of Vienna City and the Danube you would have from Kahlenberg, which is almost 500 metres high. Kahlenberg and the neighbour hill Leopoldsberg are said to be the place where Austrian and Polish troops defeated the Ottoman invaders in 1683. You may come to Kahlenberg for hiking or for tasting a glass of Austrian wine in one of the "Heurige"s - wine bars in Grinzing or for a meal at the Kahlenberg Restaurant which has a panoramic view over the Vienna city.
